Thanks to Regina Heller, I have added a search bar to the "View Critique Replies" link. Now if you wish to search for a specific reply you should be able to find it in a matter of seconds. Give the new feature a try and let me know if you like it. On a different note, some people have been leaving their Poem Rating or Critique Rating in the comment box. Critique Ratings and Reply Ratings are NOT for the Poet or Critiquer to see, they are for ranking purposes only and not to be written publicly. Please refrain from leaving Poem Ratings and Critique Ratings in the comments box. Anyone doing so from here forward will be penalized. Since some of you may be upset with this, I am giving my reason here and now. If the person sees the score you give them, they become focused too often on that score more than the actual words you wrote. -It should not be this way as I am sure you will all agree. A critique is NOT a score. -Chris

I have refined once more, the "View Critiques" program. This was done to help speed the process of searching for active critiques. I have now offered the option to search for OLD Poem Critiques if you like. The change should greatly improve speed of the normal searches, but be advised that searching for old poem critiques may take a long time. -Chris

There has been some confusion lately about "Poem Strength." I wanted to let everyone know that Poem Strength is NOT a measure of the poem's content in any way. It merely reflects how many times a poem has been critiqued by various different people. To avoid any future problems I have removed the Poem Strength from the Winners Display since it was not really necessary to have it there in the first place. I hope that this will help to keep the focus on the Poem Rating since that is the most important quantified number associated with the poem. -Chris

I have now placed a link on The Poetic Link to guide people through changing their screen resolutions. Go to the main Poetic Link page and you will see a link where it talks about 1024 x 768 Resolution. Click that link and Follow those directions. The heavens will be opened and yee shall hear the "Hallelujah Chorus" sung by Angels as never before. You will be amazed at how nice the internet looks in High Resolution! -Chris

OK the Submission Credit Transfer program is completed. Please feel free to test it out and be as generous as you like giving some submission credits to your friends. It is my hope that this will eliminate the problems for people who do not have credit cards, since they can simply pay a friend to buy submission credits for them and then have the credits transferred into their account. This will especially save time and frustration where long distance mailing used to be invloved. Some poor souls were trying to buy credits with a Check through the mail service... coming from Australia can take an EXTREEMLY long time! This should help things tremendously. I had better not hear any reports of scalping taking place! *grin* -Chris

Well today I added something really nice. I realized that there was no way to know if you got a critique on one of your older poems. So.... I added the code and *poof* now you can see the old critiques! Many of you will suddenly realize that you have got some old critiques to reply to now :) I hope you like the addition :) Please take the time to respond to the older critiques as the person was kind enough to offer you suggestions on your poem. I have also added code to show how many critiques your poems have received when you are viewing the poem lists. -Chris

I would like to thank Reginah Heller and Tom Atterberry for pointing out another slow link to me this evening. The "View Critiques" link was performing poorly, and I was able to apply the same improved algorithm to that code as I applied to the "View Uncritiqued Poems" code last evening. The result is that now BOTH "White Box" functions should be running much faster and smoother for you. Well tonight thanks to Victor David Rooks, I was able to find and eliminate a large amount of wasted processing time within the "Critique New Poems" section (the white box on the right). I was able to improve processing speed by about 5 fold. This should dramatically improve problems that any of you were having with "Time-Out" errors prior to the fix this evening. The longest search took less than 10 seconds. This should make a lot of you very happy :) I can not fix a problem if you do not report it. I am always trying to make things easier for you, so if you find a problem ...let me know! -Chris

Found a small bug this evening. "View Uncritiqued Poems" was showing 0 poems to critique here after the month switched from 4/30 to 5/1. Everything is ok now. Thank you for reporting the problem Victor Rooks :) -Chris
