My Treatise (revised)

“When will they ever learn?”                                              Sung by Bob Dylan Women with rotten teeth Do not inspire confidence Nor do soothsayers that say The end is near What is the relevance of an eye for an eye? When nations only want to go to war For oil and a patch of dirt We’re all trapped on a ghost ship Doomed to eternity and hell Cars spew out noxious fumes making The air un-breathable that will eventually kill (us) Dignified diplomats at the UN speak in Cloaked dualities as the Kyoto Accord is pushed to the back While the US prepares for war yet again Is there no end to this madness? From clubs to warheads, the answer is simple There isn’t one!
