Communication Gap

I'm sitting here waiting Beside this back door, My tail is athump Upon the oak floor. But the tail is no help And I start to whine, In high pitching notes Ever not so sublime. Reaction is swift, The head human nears, Creatively cussing And covering his ears. The door is held open Sweet freedom is mine, But, no, I'm not ready I'll go in my time! As my keeper stalks off The door crashes shut, I hear mutters and grumbles Of "some mangy mutt." You cannot be thinking Of sweet little me. How else would I tell you I just have to pee?
