War

This was written by my 17 year old daughter for her English class. She asked me to post it for comment. Thank you for taking the time to read and comment on this piece. She greatly appreciates any input you may have. Beth ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The screams ring through my head It is the dark, mournful music of the dead The crack of a rifle, the dreadful moans They plunge into the bitter silence of cold unknown The crowds, they cheer Unable to feel Unwilling to know Their cheers the dreary sound of pain Pain that they'll never know Pain the terrifies And sends them forlornly away WAR The chilling sound of Doom Doom for me But also for you The chill that will crack your bones That will turn to cold The cold Cold World of the unknown That takes my soul The unknown world with but one name The world of death That but feeds the pain Anna Rogers
