Breakfast at Arnie's Night hung its shroud over me Over the earth Over mankind Stars emitted their twinkles Against a loveless earth There is no passion left No conjoined efforts to erase Poverty, hunger, and war The eyes have it Only me exists Where shall man go next to destroy? The bowels of the earth lifts up its dead Mother Earth cries as its blood is mixed with tears No one cares Indeed, we’d rather riot because of a failed concert Where are our priorities? Wherefore art thou oh Lord King of the Universe? I think He’s gone into hiding But then… He gave us free choice Big fucking deal! |
Additional Notes:
I do not apologize for the last line. Although the poem starts out as night, I just took a bit of
poetic licence with the title...thought it sounced better.
The riot as mentioned actually happened in Vancouver, Canada just a few nights ago when a Guns
and Roses concert was cancelled at the last minute. The idiots rioted.
The eyes have it line was again poetic licence...i.e.: "the I's have it"... did you figure that out?
Sorry, there are no critiques for this poem in our system... If the poem is older, the critiques have been purged!
