Birthday at the Pond

Six decades less two years The calendar does state, Tis time to draw attention To that auspicious date. Old Waldo's vivid pond This year does open house, A perfect place to party Be you man, or fish, or mouse. The keeper of the tree Lends a watchful eye, While three eyed fish prepares A cake but three smiles wide. The acorn brew does bubble Its potency well known, Liberal libation Does great our spirits hone. Soon eyes too blurred to see The circle round the date, The birthday boy does pirouette And fall into the cake. Singing onomatopoeia With chocolate covered lips, Rescuing his dignity With haughty hands on hips. A merriment of chuckles Comes from yonder shore, The Troll has found the Alster Too funny to ignore. And from the other bank Of vivid lime green pond, A sorrel arched necked stallion A maid his back upon. Barely keeping self atop The horse's prancing back, Legs reduced to rubber Arms limp and hanging slack. Convulsed in fits of laughter At a chocolate covered knight, She slides into the arms Of a naked Arctic type. The fish in wide eyed humor At the sweetly frosted gent, Bats her smoked eyelashes In much good willed intent. To the bottom of the pond She dives with no impede, At the sandy floor wall She turns and picks up speed. Scales awash she clear the green In moonlight but a flash, Well aimed lips her target met Wet kisses wrapped in splash. Face now cleared of chocolate mask The birthday boy responds, Plotting to repay in kind He jumps into the pond. The three eyes fish does give This gent a merry ride, From end to end of Waldo's pond And round the other side. With golden scales aflashing She bids her friend goodnight, Blowing birthday kisses She scampers out of sight.

Additional Notes:
I know this is early, but I needed a laugh today...and thought maybe there were others out there that could use a chuckle....all in fun.... Happy Birthday from the Three-Eyed Fish
