Nightshift (part II)

I find myself once again staring into the abyss of darkness where most dance with their mystical dreams and demons of unchained spirit My breath floats in a mist dissolving into the blackness, like so many hopes once sparking imagination The steam of a late frost rises into obscurity as stingng eyes struggle to balance heavy eyelids I ache to be in my warm bed, succumbing to the burden of exhaustion. The moment wanes into bitter frustration, bitter nothingness, within the shelter of damned responsibility Cool winds flow through the dampness of dripping branches. A late storm passes. Like a rude visitor,it leaves silently, as solitary, meaningless, as a heart without a dream.
