It's My Life

Destiny offers no advice No platitudes, heartfelt. Fate deals the telltale cards of life We play the hand we're dealt. Unravel countless threads of doubt And pick the lock of time, Strive to figure ourselves out And make the pages rhyme. Ah, that book, it should be sent With plans we all must face. (We're on a mission, so hell-bent, And not a wild goose chase!) Some of us would welcome it To be assured we'd get it right, No fretting 'bout the sense of it No losing sleep at night, No questions asked, no puzzled frown, No second-guessing tricks. Our indecisive quirks all gone, No confusion in the mix. But, tho Fate has good intentions showing, And some want to grow with ease, For me the fun is in NOT knowing What she has hidden up her sleeve!
