Storm Tested

Forging through the village square against the raging snow Had another passed me near... truth be known, I'll never know What lures me out the Christmas Eve beyond the village square? Had sanity lost the duel... knowing love awaits me there Thrusting steps through winter's dress inched me to our meeting place Seduced into to a blizzard's breath... by visions of love's embrace Savage winds blow blinding snow to block the pass in which I go Nature's measuring my heart... as I advance so ever slow Summoned to a celebration no storm should dare delay Clawing through winter's dam... to be with love today Tolling bells in a steeple high send a message to my ear Below their perch I am bound... Come all ye faithful draws me near Candle's light behind tinted glass reassure my squinting eyes Not yet not free from winter's grasp... my thoughts are at love's side Searching for an entrance door, winter launched another blast Intent to turn my steps away... to make these steps my last But as the bells tolled Silent Night the storm gave up to my delight Love prevailed, not my might... love was finally in my sight Love's birth it was that bade me out this bitter Christmas Eve Storm tested was my soul... Yet Love gave me what I'd need

Additional Notes:
This is my first attempt at stretching the imagination to a point where one might think he/she is actually out in the storm.
