Love's Remains

Cobble stones are his tears, his monuments, the ragged air flapping o'er his garments as he fell, her face before him. She gave him water; her words sheltered him. His gnarled heart sang for her, his flight long and short because of her, the church bells rung for her in his bell tower pedestal. How much love is it in Downward Death to have Love's Name still on your breath? How much love it is for love's one word be enough to forfeit life? Only Quasimodo knew for sure  in his Loves Last Earthward Flight. Before that crash his heart intact I'm sure called her name Esmeralda Esmeralda kissing him once before shattering land. All sufficed  for what then  came: cobblestone tears: Love's Remains.
