Broadcast Withdrawal Symptoms

Manic monochromatic static       Afflicting body's attic       I'm an addict:         To the erratic and melodramatic       A media panic       Comedic manic       A cartoon fanatic              A simple standard system of snow       Severing senses       Still standing-by                          Cut off from the cacophonic carousel       Of callow kids' shows       Caustic cop shows   I'm an embryo, umbilical-free       Inestimable info       Idling in an ebony box       Unable to obligate       An hour of entertainment       Or an infantile advertisement!   So I stare. I'm right there. I can't care. I don't dare.   Fingers rapping, teeth grinding, eyes rounding       I'm an addict,        Can't kick the habit       I can't hack it       It's that static       So monochromatic       A connected planet       I can't stand it!        Emphatic Panic!   Coaxial needle: just one more fix       Feel the rush,        Digital lush       What was all the fuss?   Cerebral mush.
