Bridges To My Soul

The bridges to my soul crossed chasms of worlds, unknown. When I looked into my eyes I saw the bridge of sighs, hanging, swinging, waiting to be crossed. Death, as I’ve never known before, stood beckoning at my door, reflecting ancient prophecies, guarding against time so short, a life lived before. Atop a hill on a star filled night meteorites crossed the sky, my thoughts reeling, trying to catch trails of light. I lost my wife; and another wife, and another wife. As my heart was the engine of my soul, my brain was the engine of my life. Was I meant to pass this test? Was each harder than the rest? Choose, and what thou choosest shall be thine. Now, I give to you what once was mine. Bridges.

Additional Notes:
It may seem odd to some that I dedicated this to my fiance. But, I did.
