How Rudolph Got His Red Nose

Soft brown eyes looked out On fields all cold and white, A few short days away The most magical of nights. But would the magic time Be something he could share? Twas such a lonely feeling To only be a spare. Seeking magic of his own He ventured out one night, In search of fame and fortune He cantered out of sight. Amongst the Arctic whiteness He spied a cabin green, Big purple door screamed welcome Neath snow laced evergreens. Next to the cabin front A snowman brightly waited, He almost seemed to giggle With fun anticipated. But then the snowman moved Rudolph was aghast, It was a people person Awearing some strange mask. Face of white and ruby lips Aframe in rainbowed hair, Best of all a bright red nose So bright it gave a glare. Inside the cabin doorway A maid with hair of red, Rudolph wandered closer, Soft fingers stroked his head. Dressed in creamy buckskin Perfumed in petaled rose, She smiled and giggled sweetly And wore the same red nose. The more the pair did laugh The brighter red the lights, They brought a gentle warmth To this Arctic winter night. She touched his face with one soft hand And what do you suppose? Smack between his two brown eyes A red nose of his own. He shook his head and danced about His eyes did start to cross, Tongue hanging out and goofy grin Thought "Now I'm no longer lost." And so he left the Arctic pair Back to his home anew, Knowing he did have a gift, A big surprize, quite true. Big fat grin upon his face And laughter in his heart, He stood amongst the stable crowd A warmth he did impart. No longer orphan left behind But in the front of all, He led the crew of flashy eight, Twas Christmas, after all.
