Polar Bear Polka
Roly-poly polar bear Upon the ice did tread, One silent misstep paw did make Flipped hiney over head. Round and round he spun about His eyes began to cross, Ahead a giant hollow log Glistened in the frost. Just in time the slide did end His knickers in a knot, Nose to nose with fallen log Came to a sudden stop. Four legs flat upon the ice Pink nose apoint to west, Wiggled hiney end a bit His traction sure to test. Looking down at solid ice Gave him such a fright, Gazing back at dizzy bear A mirrored twin did sight. He moved a paw, why look at that, The twin did copy so, Moved his head from side to side The twin moved to and fro. No matter what the bear did move The mirror copied true, In anger bear did dance about And landed quite askew. Nose to nose with mirrored twin Eyeballs locked in view, Who is this silly creature That follows me quite true? One paw here, another there The twin did follow step, Dancing out across the ice In sync the mirror kept. Solid land did rise ahead Ashroud in powdered white, Fuzzy bear did step upon His twin went out of sight. Once more he was himself alone With memories of this day, A duet danced upon the ice When his twin came out to play.
