Olsanske Hrbitovy

The impending doom of the first droplet upon the cobblestone, had people scrambling for doorways and running scared for home. But I did not raise an umbrella or join the frantic race, and the clouds were venting fury on my uncaring face. I walked to the cemetery wall fighting the vicious gusts and gazed at stones of former lives gone from dust to dust. Warring winds blew trees to the ground, off branches leaves were ripped, and the vines that strangled the headstones were loosening their grip. But the headstone’s names were uncaring, showing no hint of dread and for the first time at that moment I knew they all were dead.
