When I Knew You I didn't know you when I tasted your skin sweet and salty and electric in the darkness with the curtains pulled tight against the shame. Beads of sweat ran down your neck between your breasts pooled in your belly button I didn't know you when I loved you. Your back to the water hair pulled back and plastered dark roots water dripping from your chin I drink. I wake to my reality your stretch marks and bills and children and husband I loved you when I left you. |
