The Journey Flying through life with two broken wings Making my way the best that I could Wondering why the robins won't sing Feeling my heart is made out of wood. Stumbling along so lost and so blind Looking for love I seem never to find Searching for sun, but just finding the gray The hurt and the sadness grow greater each day. Falling and falling, I finally hit ground I opened my eyes and looked all around The feelings inside me as yet left unspoken Are pieces of me that are shattered and broken. I stand at a crossroad, alone and forsaken Ahead lies a road, one that I've never taken Slowly, so slowly, one step at a time And so starts the journey on which I must find. That what could have been, can still be And what I could have done, still do The strength that lies within me The trust and courage too. I feel I'm going to make it I'll make this life my own No longer need I be afraid To stand out on my own. And when the journey's over If you're still there for me We'll start a journey of our own Together, you and me. |
