These Hands

THESE HANDS I need these hands to work with, To do my daily chores. Like a Monkey needs its fingers, And a Lion needs its paws. I use these hands to comb my hair, To fold and iron the clothes. To peel and cut the vegetables, And bandage kids sore toes. To wash the dogs and brush them, And hold them on my knee. I use these hands to light the gas,  To make a pot of tea. A thousand things a hundred more, I use these hands each day. If I lost one what would I do, I’d find another way. Some people lose both arms and legs, But they do not complain. There’s always someone worse off, But they manage just the same. Written by T Claydon  c
