MY AMERICAN SOLDIER

His wife and young son watch by the door, as he silently packs to set off for war. An American Soldier he always wanted to be, He thought his duty to protect you and me.   He is faraway now doing what must be done. Defending ideology that our forefathers begun. He is protecting and assuring us a better life, leaving behind a son and inconsolable wife. Anxiously we wait for his letters everyday, so terrified that God might take him away. I am happy that he is proud doing what is right,  as he protects our freedom and American way of life. I anticipate that someday he might see, this incredible new life that I carry in me. Praying determinedly he will soon come home, for this family is really miserable alone. For his country, he may have to give his life, Leaving Fatherless children and widowed wife. But deep down, from my heart, I really know for him, the most honorable way to go. An American Solider is what he does best, wearing Honor and Patriotism proudly on his chest.
