BIRTHDAY CAKE

Soon another birthday will arrive,  Indicating, another year, I have survived.  Commemorated with candles and cake.  Although, the cherished one, time has baked.   Constructed by my son 30 years ago,  Its presence makes my heart glow.  Red clay, one candle, and trimmed in blue,   his wonderful way of saying, I love you.  Prudently, I unpack this old treasure,  uncovering beauty that has no measure.  Just three inches wide and one inch high  yielding 50 feet of happy reminiscing sighs.  A compact gift formed by childish hands  signifying more then anyone understands.  At the conclusion of the day, I pack it away Preserving it,God willing, for my next birthday.
