Beauty of the Lamb

Smitten, broken, limp and lifeless, they carried the Lamb away to be sealed in a tomb forever... or so they thought. Weeping, withered, His disciples scattered and hid, not understanding the reason for His death, though He had told them it would be so. Relieved, puffed up, His accusers and enemies gloated and boasted in their conquest of a rebel, glad  to be rid of Him. The wolf, who bruised and tore  the Lamb, howled loudly before the gates of hell, presuming himself a victor. Neither death nor sealed tomb could hold captive the Holy, Resurrected Lamb...the grave became His slave. Heaven's corridors hushed in silence as the Lamb approached the Throne, bearing scars of His obedience to Love's Sacrifice... "Father, it is finished. I held nothing back, gave all my life, my loyalty, my love for followers who believed me, for all who will believe in me, and the Word I spoke from You. I willingly accepted slaughter,  as blood spilled onto the earth. I kneel before You, offering scars for final signature of pardon... hands and feet bear hollow holes, left by oppressor's cruel spikes; in my side, see a deep wound where the enemy sword pierced. My back is criss-crossed in evidence  of lesions, endured for their healing; thorns like daggers dug into my head,  in torment I felt their pain...such pain. Innocence did not cry out for justice.  I obeyed for love of the lost sheep,  the strayed and guilty, the hopeless. Father, Let the covering of My Blood  forever seal your anger, releasing a covenant of Eternal Mercy,  to redeem, to release all lost and condemned who believe  My Promise in Our Bond." His Father's words, "Well done My Son,"  echoed throughout heaven, as angels sang a melody of joy, a new song was composed,  yet only the Lamb and His redeemed hear the beauty of its verse. "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which  according to His abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a  lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,  to an inheritance incorruptible.....reserved in heaven for you."                       (1 Pet 1:3,4)

Additional Notes:
I wrote this to honor the sacrifice my Lord made for me...and you, if you will receive it. According to the scriptures, it is what I imagined conversed that Resurrection Morn as Jesus ascended to the Father.
