Empty Pastures

Tall dark pillars help hold the night, wet snow falls from darkening skies on streets keeping their secrets white, dark hills echo night prairie sighs. Memories in a lonesome mind comes as the darkness turns my way empty pastures of love I'll find and leave a flowered kiss to stay. From orchid lips by harvest fields come quiet songs and dreaming eyes sounding flutes and gold armored shields I search for her with night hawk cries. My slow steps cushioned never meant to step on hers over cold floors led  by a looming perfume scent coming from behind bedroom doors. Whispering shadows end the search as love hides under a white sheet many song birds sing from their perch, sun blankets cover where we meet.
