The Hemlock Complex

On our ocarina earth,   cosmic whispers waver   and whirl in breezes.   Past and future flex   through the air,   voices of the dead    spiral outward,   thinning toward   infinity. Cosmic arias.     During our interregnum,   exists one wise enough   to accept the scepter   and ascend the throne?   Should such sagacious   person emerge from   the horde, could he   hold his power unused   like Jesus?                            And if the new leader   assumes command during   our darkest days, we   will ave and praise him.   But let him just once   set himself above the law,   refuse to bide by common   view and we will oust him   for his hubris...      Because he hears music   in cosmic whispers.
