In Praise Of Ordinary Things

I am blinded these days Not so much by extremes As by the great in-betweens. I am daily amazed Not so much by life’s illusions As by the profusion of ordinary things. All the worlds I have missed And failed to give mention While I gave my attention Only to the gist, That I may come to understand The forms before my hand without dimension. And so the most of time’s Much more subtle treasure Was never viewed as pleasure, But only something I’m Wading through in my quest for art,   Having lost the greater part of the measure.
