Sweet Youth Where Hast Thou Flown? ...{I} & {II}

           {I} I long for sleep, a peaceful rest That will not come. Deep blissful dreams  Like those best evidenced On the innocent, cherubic face Of a babe freshly kissed; Effortlesssly slipping through time/space To drift once more the cloud mists Listening to an angel's lullabye.           {II} I long for far away days School out for the summer Flying my bike down dirt roads  Beside dense salt marsh Then, onto trails I had forged Through the tall grasses  Hiding places only I knew. Down at the water's edge I felt as completely free  As the steady ocean breeze That brushed my hair. Barefoot, brown, and small I stood Palms stretched up toward the sun Feet buried in warm, wet sand Maestro to laughing gulls Dolphins dancing at my command.

One of my few attempts at free verse; punctuation deliberately minimal; left open for {III}, {IV}, etc....
