Postage Due

A Country Song... Well, I knew our love affair didn't mean too much to you. I kind of thought you were foolin' all the time. It's not that you forgot to do the things most lovers do and you didn't seem to be the hurtin' kind. I guess I should have realized that something wasn't right when every time we'd meet, you showed up late. But it didn't happen often, just every other night. (The other times you'd call and break our date.) Then there was the time my birthday's comin' due. You told me I was in for a big surprise. I had in mind a quiet night, some wine, just me and you but you showed up with fifteen other guys!   But you didn't have to go to all that bother just to let me know that we were through. I think I understood what you were saying when I got your "Dear John" letter postage due!
