Moon Gaze

O ravaged orb you bear  the scars  of countless blows; your man’s visage  is crater-pocked and facing Earth in orbit locked. Perhaps you’ll turn one day,  unthinking, at last to bare  the side  we’ve never seen. Will you  open up one eye,  unblinking, and end your silence with a stony scream?
