Groundwork

Picked purple blossoms won’t blight  true Violet's plans to multiply-- early bloomers aren’t seed-bearers; they are chaste exuberance.  Truly fertile flowers are subtle things  who ho-hum their green petals open to quietly drop their seeds  and nod out again later,  in summer.
