Deep in the Pit Mine

Word tailings a chat dump full of discarded sentence fragments, phrases, lies, distortions litters the landscape. An excavation in progress, poets shove spades into a claim for Truth, delve deep into abstruse meanings, sift the rubble of rambling ideology take pickaxes and crack walls of misunderstanding. Mine for rich pure ore:  insight, clarity, vision—  a perfect metaphor, rhythm, rhyme scheme. a vein glitters, a flicker teases in  shafts of sunlight pouring over sweating shoulders always one depth, one shovelful further in the pursuit  of untold wisdom... wealth forms in the mind. Hands pan out the precious gems.
