Just Ask

Crashing thunder and lightening so bad The Auctioneer thought to postpone the sale At Eight O'clock flash floods were had Was sure to spoil this tale. Tho' starting time was set at Nine thirty As the dark clouds brought more rain, The muddy ground got everything dirty  One glance at Daddy and I felt his pain. 'Cause today was Daddy's final sale To rid him of all the strife The stroke caused his strength to fail  And the worry was too much for his wife. I bowed, whispering "Oh God, help us through And make everything bright today." He turned the dark cloudy skies blue And swept the heat away. Soon after the auction the sun came out The temperature rose to Kentucky hot God answered my prayer there is no doubt Thinking it was pure luck, but was not. When our efforts fail, we can turn to God Seeking His love and care Oh Holy Power of the rod Just ask.... He's always there. Charlotte Ann Donovan
