Fighting Again

as she cried, salty tears rolled down her cheek; she couldn't fight back, she was too weak as he ranted on at her loud and long; he didn't feel that he was wrong as she arose from her chair to fix his meal;  she could not think, she could not feel as he relaxed and read the evening news;  he did not hear her soft soled shoes as she walked towards him she did not understand;  why she had a gun in her hand as her shadow fell over him like an ink blot; he never even heard the shot as in a daze she heard the big clock chime; and thought, "now, tell me you love me, one more time" ©   6-4-2000          by  Donna Saulsman Friedrichs

Additional Notes:
This is probably nothing fresh and nothing new. And it gives me a chill, does it give you one too? A a terrible story of mental abuse.
