PENNEY WHISTLE PARK I took a walk through Penny Whistle Park To lift my spirits some For this is where I always go When I'm feeling sad and glum Many things have happened When I come to this beautiful scene To watch the children laugh and play On fields of vivid green I met a beautiful lady there Only 'cause I heard her sneeze With olive skin and dark brown eyes Black hair flowing in the breeze I approached her timidly Not knowing which way to go She said her name was Gina And that was all I needed to know I met another lady there Somewhat battered somewhat bruised She came amongst the big tall pines Her ego and body to soothe I struck up a conversation Just to see if she was alright You could see it in her eyes All the anger, all the fright I consoled as best I could that day It affected me,I can't deny My only thought when leaving, Just one word...Why? On another trip to Penny Whistle Sitting on the bench Admiring all the flowers Engulfing there sweet stench I fell adrift in slumber Oh so sweet and light To awake with the understanding That Cornelius was right! This place has magic And powers unforseen They come forth in your concious life Or even in your dreams I love it here in daylight I'm not sure if afterdark I could muster up courage To visit Penny Whistle Park |
