GOSSAMER THREADS

Unwinding the gossamer threads with which I'd spun you to me,  I prayed you'd go and find your peace with God. The unraveling of even  gossamer threads can be felt,  but, I am glad. You were finding life. As the precious tears rolled down your lovely face I knew... you were finding peace... you were finding God... the one I've known. Then gently, ever so gently, I began to feel the invisible threads winding again... around a rotating spool... One that can draw us together,  yet unwind us when we need solitude from one another. I also realized new gossamer threads were extending from you, and from me, spiraling upward  as they reach  toward the center Of His perfect love. ©  1974    by Donna Saulsman Friedrichs
