City Verses The Bush

CITY VERSES THE BUSH If you wish to live in the city, Your neighbor you will probably not meet. You can go to the movies each evening, Or go to the ballet so sweet. Have the papers delivered each morning, The rubbish is carted away. A nine to five job keeps you going, Each Friday, you even get paid. On weekends it’s off to the footy, To see how the home team will play. The eagles and vics play so daring, In their quest to be best on the day. It’s off to the office each Monday, Your rellies you don’t seem to see. But it’s your choice to live in the city, So it’s happy I hope you will be. Now I'd rather live in the country Where peace and tranquility is rife. The remoteness makes me contented,  To begin getting on with my life. The trees where the birds are all singing, Contented with what they have got. The sunshine, the breeze and the blue skies, Makes me satisfied with my own plot. Thelma Claydon. C
