reflections

Wisdom!  Much maligned, unappreciated with scorn, By humanity due to its simple solution To all of the world's problems; the Savior was once                       born, To bring peace and harmony to all His creation. As He was in the beginning, so is He always, Firm in His word, attentive to man's development; For, He cares of earthly matters, the coming of                       days, The passing of nights, the lushness of the firmament. Without God, the world would be a lonely place,                      indeed; Where every man/woman would be a lonesome stone Lodged in the muddied waters of darkness, fear,                     and greed, To live without friendship, compassion, love's                     blessed tone. If He is who He says He is, let Him show Himself, So that all may recognize Him and know Him as one; But, He has, through countless Holy men on earthly                       shelf Who have known His will, His ways, His work on                   Earth be done. The light drizzle on a summer's eve, a bird in                       flight, The warm touch of someone you love, an infant                       asleep, The stars that orchestrate the grand Symphony                      at night, All of this is witness to me that now He must weep. Another of one of my earlier pieces from my "primitive" period. To be quite honest with you, folks, I am entering my period of Great Despair. Oh, well. :( Bobby T.

Dear Robert, Whether or not it was from your primitive period or not, this is a wonderful and stirring poem. A tribute to a God that cares for what he has created. The flow was excellent and the sentiment expressed without gushiness. It is a fine work, keep them coming. This particular stanza is beautiful: The light drizzle on a summer's eve, a bird in flight, The warm touch of someone you love, an infant asleep, The stars that orchestrate the grand Symphony at night, All of this is witness to me that now He must weep. Thanks for sharing Robert. Sherri

Despair not Bobbie T......your work has just begun......sit back, relax, allow the Spirit of the Lord to flow as He has through your veins for so many years now, what you may find on paper come morning light will amaze you as well as those that are allowed the joy and pleasure of reading it as well.......... This is well done as are all your others poet, good structure, word flow, images and emotions set forth, and for those that know the Lord, He is always with us no matter what.......He walks with us and guides our steps along the way only thing is He allows us to make choices as we go and that might be where our trouble lies......freedom of choice......so carry on my dear friend, fear not your are not entering no period of great despair......trust in the Lord as you always have and you will sail through this valley you might be finding yourself in...............be safe, thanks for posting and God Bless, Claire You are a nurse are you not? I am scheduled for a CTScan of my liver due to elevated blood levels which indicate a problem other then my heart meds........I should find out what portion is elevated then ask silly questions but for now my faith is in God that all is right or will be once the test is over.....last night I ran a fever of 102 and have done this for the past three months and no one can find a cause, my back and chest is covered with a rash that could be caused by the faulty liver.........and it itches, hurts, burns and makes me feel like I am on fire......that's it from Tully for now......Claire

Hi Bobby, You are entering my period of Great Despair? Oh, is there such a stage of life like that? Well, problems maybe the cause of great despair or I am thinking of the stage of adulthood when one is already incapable of doing things. But that is life. No one is excempted! Thanks for sharing us your sentiment. I perceived this one as spiritual reflections. It speaks of mature thinking and discernment. And it takes a wise mind to come up with this. This is a great realization that makes a person inspired to do his best: "To all of the world's problems; the Savior was once born," And it is a truth that Christ came to bring peace and harmony to all His creation. This shows your great faith in Christ. We all do Christians recognize Him as all-knowing and omnipotent. What a grea reflection here: "Without God, the world would be a lonely place, indeed;" I am also thinking sometimes in my reflections, what if God is not present to our lives? That's why I commented when you said "period of Great Despair". I like the association of nature in your reflections. Nature is a manifestation of God's presence on Earth. I especially like the line: "The stars that orchestrate the grand Symphony at night," Great imagery and a delight to visualize. Thank you for sharing your reflections, Bob! Jordan

Dear Robert, Please don't despair -"It will come", in it's time when it's meant to, and we all here will be the beneficiaries of your extreme expression - that I've grown forward to reading on a regular basis. This piece has a softer touch to it, and as I read to the end - I realized it had a calming affect on me. The theme is comprehendable - but I wonder about the words because with knowing that God exists, the world is still a lonely place and that individual faith & belief is what we rely on - because If He is who He says He is, let Him show Himself, - (There it is again, we've never had the opportunity to do this -) to really see and recognize our Holy Father. This was a good post - I missed it the first time around. Good luck - sincerely, DeniMari

Robert--Bobby T. You know, it doesn't sound like despair. It sounds more like discernment. Something about it resonates (spelling--not sure). Wisdom! Much maligned, unappreciated with scorn, Wisdom, much maligned--interesting slant at wisdom By humanity due to its simple solution simple solution--good 's' sound--makes me 'think' To all of the world's problems; the Savior was once born, To bring peace and harmony to all His creation. As He was in the beginning, so is He always, Firm in His word, attentive to man's development; I believe this way too, but am reassured that someone else thinks so. For, He cares of earthly matters, the coming of "coming of days" feels reassuring as well. days, The passing of nights, the lushness of the firmament. lushness--great word here. Without God, the world would be a lonely place, hard to imagine a world without God. indeed; Where every man/woman would be a lonesome stone---lonesome stone says a world of emotions there are no Lodged in the muddied waters of darkness, fear, words for--muddied water of darkness, fear and greed,-----------------------I'm sure "greed" belongs but it seems too 'opposite' a To live without friendship, compassion, love's ----word to go here. blessed tone.---------------------love's blessed tone--makes me think "out of the box!" If He is who He says He is, let Him show Himself,------ah, something everyone has wishes since "way back when" So that all may recognize Him and know Him as one; But, He has, through countless Holy men on earthly-------"But" is the operative word shelf----------------------------earthly shelf--interesting choice of words Who have known His will, His ways, His work on Earth be done. The light drizzle on a summer's eve, a bird in flight, The warm touch of someone you love, an infant-----love the imagery, but wonder why this is witness to why asleep,---------------------we must weep. The stars that orchestrate the grand Symphony at night, All of this is witness to me that now He must weep This is from your "primitive" period. That was before The Great Despair. Why despair? It seems to me that things are happening right on schedule. Thanks for the read. Marcia McCaslin

Well composed with the nice rhyming scheme. I do feel it a little didactic, but maybe I am too adverse to the spirituality thing. It starts with a sadness, then enters some brightness, then returning to "weep" again. I do think it reads very esily in its nice rhythmic pattern. Thanks for posting.
