PEACE WILL COME When the sapphire feather of today pushes steadily away beneath the gray ceiling of the catacomb in tomorrow’s clay; when heavy mahogany leaves and mangled branches plummet perilously through the cracked mirror of yesterday’s magnet; when glittering, flailing ringed fingers of prior marble monoliths fumble with – then crumble onto their paganish pages of chic-ness – peace will come. When the elliptically orbiting asteroids begin their blitzkrieg and pock-marked planets become hollowed sky-stones; when the flickering of the fuse reaches its destination to initiate another grand fulmination from the compactness; when all the imagined holy water boils at absolute zero and relativity competes with itself for irrelevant headlines – peace will come. When primordial pyramids disintegrate and self-righteous hallelujah hornets capitulate; when the hammer on the anvil is still and silence prevails; when darkness is inconsequential through the universe; when the dust of violence settles; when stars become as one – peace will come. |
