And so it goes The axe blade is swift Lifted to a vertical position Then brought downwards in One swift blow It cuts Deeply The lifeblood oozes between The rings signifying death Once tall in stature Now lies broken Yet will serve once again Not as shade But as warmth brought forth By fire Life goes on |
