Prairie Wind

The prairie wind is fresh and strong.   It sings to me a Gypsy song.   It gives the weather-vane a clout,   That sends it spinning all about.   It ruffles up the lake's calm face   And causes tumble-weeds to race.   It rattles windows;  with a roar,   It blows its breath beneath the door.   All day it rushes to and fro,   Then suddenly, decides to go.   It makes me restless, but I find,   There's too much silence left behind!
