Storm’s Ending

The storm was fighting back against the fire of sunshine which sucked up its life’s  blood in droplet assassination, turning the rain into gasses, leaching its strength. Wind rapped against trees for attention, imploring them to support the storm in its campaign, thrashing them into obedience before the change of fate and weather. The young black cat crouched beneath the grill, looking over his lawn with proprietary clenching of paw and claw, waiting impatiently to resume his hunting. Overhead twin rainbows foreshadowed the end of the storm.
