No Big Deal

I sent my co-worker home early today I wanted to be alone He was glad to have a couple hours off I needed to ponder the events of  The last few weeks Try to make some sense and stop the spinning I’ve watched my lifelong boss go totally insane Led off by a police officer to a waiting ambulance Precipitated by one single phone call And I’m the one who did it I set a chain of events in motion That completely altered The lives of a demented man and his family Would he have really hurt his wife? I’ll never know for sure but I saw his EYES as they led him off Ranting “WHY? WHY?” Shouting “WHAT’S THE BIG DEAL?” I stood in stunned silence He might just as well have been in a straight jacket I called the officer to thank him For his calm demeanor and professionalism He said I deserve a sainthood for what I endured Funny I feel more like Judas
