IF WAR, WHY?

If you could once observe the humility, the futility, the brutality, the finality of war; If you could only see the broken dreams, broken hearts, the missing man and woman parts of war; If you could just imagine the desperation, the starvation, the devastation, the depredation of war; If you could even guess of the destruction, lost production, the trepidation, the abomination of war, then answer this: if war, why? If you could once experience the kindness, the blindness, the harmony, the serenity of peace; If you might once contemplate the benevolence, the grace, the consonance, the solace of peace; If you could only perceive the majesty, the nobility, the rapture, the magic of peace; If you could feel, just once, the bounty, the elegance, the magnitude, the gratitude of peace, then answer this: if peace, why not?
