Good Grief

of what good does the breath grieve for the end of itself? is it not the beginning of the end of itself? is it not the only partner fused to mend itself? could it not dance until the end then bend itself? would it not have begot the letter that penned itself? could it have forgot the better that lends itself? does not the breath reprieve in the end itself? is it not the beginning to transcend the self? of what, grief?

Reeg, I'm gonna call you the title man. Man, you come up with good titles. I couldn't help but think of Charlie Brown, though. Which is not a bad thing, if you like Charlie Brown. I do. Another nice work from our resident Hamlet. So introspective. Coming to one of yours i always know i'm about to meet the self-scrutiny of a keen mind. It is the musings of such minds that make poetry really, really matter - in ways a little more meaningful than a ballgame or a crossword puzzle. But then i'm a hopeless Romantic. My Dad, who worked for IBM for a brief spell, got a little desk sign when he was with that company, with bright orange borders, that said "THINK." Don't know why i said that. Well, i do. Sorta. Mark

Hi Reeg, I have read this piece several times just to hear the rhythm of the lines. I finally decided to pay attention to the words, which certainly have merit. You are asking some very profound questions that the likes of me could never answer. It is well thought out and well written...love it! Peace....Marilyn

Hmmm...interesting piece, Reeg! Questions are all around us as we continue living and this one is the proof. I'm sure these questions are not answerable by Physics or Science! Are they? That is the mystery of life that I believe can lead us to think the existence of God! Your poem brought me questions. Thank you for the interesting Good Grief ideas. The poem is powerful in ITSELF. Jordan

Reeg, so many questions, so little time! Excellent and interesting write/read. Many tools put to use, fashioning this piece. In spite of my liking the formality of capitals, punctuation and all that, I can accept and appreciate this in its present form. The lack of the capitals after each question seems to make the flow improve, not weaken it - oddly enough. Peace. wrl
