By Example

Sitting on the bed awaiting discharge All decked out, looking like Mom Her hair all set, her regal bearing didn't subtract from this horrid trip to the unknown and back She sat and asked Dad to hand her her glasses mild glances of question passed among those awaiting She donned the glasses, and the wheelchair awaited,  so away we went, to that glorious place called Home There were two cars had to be, so many accompanied this couple, married for oh so long All the while that unspoken question not shared  Why had Mom requested her glasses We learned that many others had paid one last visit they didn't know the circumstances as we did No big question, Mom was a woman never to ask for sympathy She fooled them all, after all just as she deemed it necessary We knew though, she didn't need the glasses you see Mom had been blind from diabeties for quite some time The value for her was, to continue as close to normal conditions just as the Good Lord intended, Amen to that life's lesson

Additional Notes:
It may be sometimes glasses arn't need, for a person like Mom, setting by example, and continous teaching is the norm...This was a very beautiful person, not only of physical form, but by example you see.......Jo Mo
