The Phoenix or Abuse is Abuse The chains rattled against the midnight floor Flashback You'll never amount to anything Flashback My 7th grade teacher told me that Oh him, he told his friend, he'll never amount to anything Flashback My father said that to his best friend Who said, "the sins of the father are passed unto the children?" Flashback My father's ghost returns in the night The teacher pounded me on my forehead with the chalk duster Flashback My father pushed me into a wall. Don't ever talk about your mother that way! My teacher was wrong My father was wrong |
