The Actor's Bane Morpheus What say you? Are you away? Let me in to your world of sleep, so I will not sleep on the floor-boards tonight I must remember my opening lines Maybe I’ll write them on my forearm Just a few lines A few moments on stage Such a short part (but there are no short parts – only short actors) Oh yes, I’ve got them now “Shit Ray, it’s all a mystery…” I say Then a few more lines and moments Then the inevitable bow Did they like it? Do I hear thunderous applause? The curtain closes “Well done actors” “See you all tomorrow night at seven” C’mon Morpheus, where are you when I need you? |
