The Rose I have found a perfect Rose Growing in the forest I found it growing there Without love and care If you were to see You would not doubt me I thought I was blessed To see it alone and exposed I bent down to take a closer look The stem was thick and strong The leaves were the prettiest green And the petals were the deepest red you have ever seen How could this perfect thing be, Growing in this black sea? She had to be very headstrong To keep on being overlooked I have found my perfect Rose Blooming in the forest, To pick it do I dare? I know I would give her love and care Will she always be happy, Living her life with me? So I will confess She is the one I choose Will she become withdrawn, If I take her from her birthplace? I pray to god that this could be, A new life for her and me It must be written in the cosmos So I will bring this to a close If I am blessed with her grace Her heart will never long! 1-17-00 Niven To my Rose, Kristine |
