The Child

The majesty of circumstance In this moment of time Restless and trembling Of excitable nerves Hold my hand And we'll walk down this path Together the journey Will fulfill wanderlust Our wounds will heal Our love will burn Our dreams will be realized Our faith will return Touch me now Let me feel your soul I will embrace the warmth Of who you are Let me touch you I will give you my all Trusting and loving We will become one Our wounds will heal Our love will burn Our dreams will be realized Our faith will return The magnificent creation Of life will impose Itself in our hearts And the wonder of the world Three quarters of a year We welcome the arrival We rejoice to God And cherish the child

Medard, Hello again. Thank you for this hearltfelt offering. It was a pleasure to read your words, to feel your emotions and to share a small piece of your journey. With your well thought out dialogue you have enlightened and reaffirmed that their are those who procreation is a wonderous gift to be cherished and revered. With the strophe of your pen you have created for this reader a must read, something that I could not put down once I had begun. I like the the double play of : Our wounds will heal Our love will burn Our dreams will be realized Our faith will return this gives way to letting one know that all things take a back seat when it comes to the miracle of a new life, a true treasure. Thank you again so much for allowing us the honoring of reading this work. Kudos! Warmest always, Lora

Medard, I guess one has to begin with March 25, or there about, the creation and fall of Adam, the Israelites fording the Red Sea, the Annunciation, Crucifixion and the incarnation (Christmas). Among all of that are the standards, of the “Child” the incarnation, the carols and the presumption of celebration. The season set in Spain – the gifts of the Magi, and the veneration of the shepherds, and still there is a ringing in your piece. You speak candidly of healing and celebration, of the coming of true order to humanity- and there is the “Child”, the incarnation of the creator. There is Chrysostom bring the church to celebration on December 25, a date that remains, despite the inclinations otherwise. And your piece speaks of “the Child”, and that, certainly is the redemption of the season, not the dates or history, but the representation of God upon our cultures. I thank you for saying it, in the image of “the Child”, it is a rare find these days. A very rare image of warmth, trust and love. Very nice piece, grants well your point.

Dear Medard Unfortunately all my energy is being frittered away on other things. But what remains was struck by this tender elegy. I will assume that you are a father, and I will assume that is the father in me that hears your voice. "The magnificent creation/Of life will impose/Itself in our hearts". That is surely what we are here to bear witness to, as you have, and to partake of it. As you have. Regards, Mark.

Medard, If I read this right, congratulations are in order. Congratulations! I have nothing wise to add about your poem, other than i've read it and have thereby shared in your good fortune. Which is important enough. God bless, Mark
