A Rose Upon the blooming of a rose God unto man bestows A desperate avarice Of which nothing can suffice To name that hidden power Found in the petal of a flower Which forged within its hue The beauty to subdue All manner of beast and man As no artist or poet can In their vain attempt to share What Divinity vested there. |
Additional Notes:
This piece was my first real poem that I wrote back in March of last year when I discovered I had an ability in
poetry. If it was not for the encouragement of a dear writer friend of mine, I may not have continued writing.
I remember the day well when I muttered a few lines of this poem akwardly to him and he planted a seed of
possibility within me with his praise. I am eternally grateful that God is the Tender Gardener who plants in
perfect rhythm to our life's seasons.
