Fingerprints on photographs

Dreams are all I have of a world gone by Thank goodness for photographs now well worn This body, this mass of gelatinous materiel worth only pennies Has remembrances, has triggers,  Like the smell of the ocean that brought me back …to the first time I tasted its salty water and taffy …to the play I saw on the tele today about Shakespeare …of seeing the plays in London, and walks in the Tower These are memories I cherish I too cherish my children Not a day goes by without remembering them as babes …when I smelled their freshly bathed bodies …when I taught them to ride bikes …when I took them to school And when I taught them things…just things I cherish those moments …only brought back to life by well worn photographs
