HIM His stained glass image
hovers above flickering
candles
Eyes downcast, arms
open,palms up.
Reverence embraces
the Nave
The shape and drape
of His robe caresses Him
with every fold
Kneeling, bending to pray,
fragmented thoughts,
what to say
Can He hear me?
Can He see me?
Or is He only in my
Tutored mind?
Burdens of sin rape my soul
emotional rue taking
its toll.
From somewhere along the
edges of my being emerges
the truth
His holy presence adorns
me in garments
of forgiveness
A single teardrop
revels my acceptance of
Absolution.

you can truly feel the faith that you have within your heart and this poem. So personal, this speaks of fear, self doubt, wonder, questioning etc..but in the end one who reads this knows the strength of your conviction and faith and the knowing that you are loved and always forgiven. The description of "Jesus" that you give though the stainglass illustration is vivid, not only to the eyes but the heart. Thanks for submitting such a personal piece.

Marilyn,
I just love this, the flow, the thought patterns and especially this time of season although it is a fitting tribute to belief at any time of the year. I could visualize the stained glass image as I shared in your thoughts. Simply wonderful, bravo.
God Bless
Lora

Hi Marilyn,
Looks like we have been thinking along same lines recently
with our postings and the Easter Holiday at hand.
HIM is the perfect title for this poignant poem about your
salvation. The ending is superb. Did you see "The Passion"?
That last paragraph remind me of the single tear that was shed
by our Creator at the end of the movie. This poem reminds us
of what we need in our lives and could not be more timely.
Thank you so m uch for sharing this experieince.
OF course I wouldn't change a thing about this one.
Blessings,
Jennifer

Hi there Marilyn,
Me again! By the title, I know for sure who this poem talks about, I am so blessed to have read this poem because this is a reverence for HIM and this makes me realize that sometimes I forgot to recognize HIM. The times that I stood up on my own without recognizing that HE was the one doing it for me. Your descriptions are just apt to make this a humble piece of magnifying HIS greatness.
Thank you for sharing this with us.
God bless!
Jordan
